Whoops it's been 3 months since my last blog post! Sup?
So I finished Improv 401 at UCB in May, and I was accepted into the Advanced Study Improv Program! Check out my diploma (YES I GOT IT FRAMED SORRY NOT SORRY) and my fabulous 401 class. I can't wait to take my first ASH or ASP!
Over the last few months, I've performed in a bunch of indie improv shows with my two teams, Hephaestus and Hot Medicine. Hephaestus hosted our first show at Slake last Thursday. Slake is a huge bar in midtown/Chelsea with a large concert hall that we got to do our show in. We had a huge audience, great teams including several UCB house team performers, and everyone's sets were awesome! It looks like we'll be hosting a show there once a month!
My teams have a few indie improv shows scheduled for the next few weeks as well. I love doing improv, especially with friends, and I would literally be happy doing shows every day. UCB is taking over my life and I love it.
My apprentice class at The Barrow Group just got cast in short plays for our industry showcase. I'm cast in two really fun parts, and our showcase will be in mid-September!
Orange is the New Black season 3 came out last month, and I made two very brief appearances! *SPOILER*
Big Boo's flashback (I'm wearing a ponytail and a choker necklace):
And Pennsatucky's flashback (Brown longsleeve shirt and jeans):
It's silly and blurry but OITNB is such an amazing and important show, so it's awesome that I was a tiny part of it and that I had a sneak peek last year!
Also, I wrote another article for NY Blueprint. It's not relevant anymore because the festival is over, haha, but click here to read it. I also wrote two more silly articles on my tumblr: sophiehirsh.tumblr.com.
Thanks for click click clicking! xo
